Building a pipeline of skilled Tasmanians and providing more career options has never been more important which is why we are launching a new campaign called The Right Track.
The Right Track puts a spotlight on vocational education and training (VET) and encourages learners of all ages to try something new whether it’s a short course, qualification or apprenticeship.
The campaign targets audiences state-wide including young learners encouraged to explore VET during and post-school, parents, teachers, adults, employers and industry who are critical to the successful growth of our workforce.
With 500 different VET training qualifications and shorter programs on offer through 100 training organisations who deliver government-funded training in Tasmania, VET offers high level flexibility and teaches real-life skills.
Whether it is the traditional trades, disability, aged and childcare sectors, high-tech industries or roles that are in high-demand for skilled staff, VET covers a huge diversity of jobs and careers.
We also know that that VET graduates have a higher employment rate, find work faster and earn more in their first year compared to many of their university undergraduate counterparts.
Vocational Education and Training plays a significant role in supporting our economy by providing the opportunities to build skills and increase knowledge, and by offering employers access to a skilled workforce.
The release of The Right Track campaign will help grow Tasmanian’s understanding of how VET can change lives, business and communities.
We want more Tasmanians in Vocational Education and Training to make sure our industries have the workers they need to recover and Tasmanians looking for a career have the right choices.
The Right Track campaign will cover TV, digital, social, press and radio and will run through to until June 2022.
