The Tasmanian Prison Service (TPS) is seeking applications for its next round of Correctional Officer recruits as it continues to boost its ranks.
The successful applicants will undergo an intensive 10-week training program which will allow them to work across TPS facilities state-wide.
Each successful Correctional Officer recruit must pass a rigorous five-stage process, including written assessments, psychological profiling, health assessments and criminal history checks.
This continuing effort to increase staffing demonstrates the TPS’s strong commitment to providing a safe and secure environment for staff and prisoners.
This is occurring alongside a strong plan to invest $365 million to meet future prison capacity demands and upgrade existing facilities, including a new Northern Regional Prison and Southern Remand Centre.
This recruitment process will deliver an improved work-life balance for staff across correctional facilities, while also providing prisoners greater access to rehabilitation services.
